happy valentines day to me

I received a box of flowers this morning from FTD - it was from a secret admirer. Clearly my secret admirer knows me well because a dozen white calla lilies were included in the 1.5 dozen red roses. And to add to how well my secret admirer knows me, he was cool with me splitting the bouquet into 2 bouquets because he knows how much I a.) love to arrange flowers and b.) would rather have more bouquets around the house. I really need to meet this secret admirer....

bonding experience

I received this hot pink feathery mess of a flamingo pen from my grandmother last week and well, Margot and Owen set aside their differences to marvel at its beauty.

They were both so intrigued by the furry feathers

So much so that Margot tried to attack it...
much to Owen's dismay because he thought it was a cat toy...
but the flamingo won in the end and is now sitting
out of reach for both of them...

margot loves her turkey

Margot really loves her toy turkey. She carries it around with her everywhere, even after she decided it needed to have all the stuffing ripped out. She even ripped out the piece of plastic that made it squeak. So now it's just a dirty ol' yard toy...

first!

This jonquil is the first to bloom in my yard this year, so it gets the prize for 'First of '09'. Congratulations. And it was transplanted from my grandmother's yard back in the fall, so I'm sure it will be a hearty daffodil.
